family that started racing in the 1980’s.
Newton started racing 125’s at club and regional level.
With the slump in Motocross he switched in 1985 to enduro’s.
Newton won his first enduro in East London. He competed in the National circuit and did very well.
Newton took part in the Roof of Africa and four Kei Enduro’s.
Unfortunately the
social side got the better of him and he progressed to the more relaxed
Off Road Cars in 1994 Newton and Colin Pote (co-driver) started racing a
Nissan Safari for three years
and progressed into buying a Raceco.
Newton and Colin competed in all the Nationals and had just
imported a Fortin Gearbox and had their eye on the National Championship
in the year 2000. Unfortunately
due to ill health Newton had to give up. |

Dylan
and Bradley started racing in June 2000 but due to Newtons treatment
overseas they only competed in a few events.
Dylan started on a PW80 and Bradley on a PW50.
In 2001 Dylan got a 65cc and Bradley got a KTM 50.
Dylan achieved a second position in the club championship and
Bradley a third position.

The
year 2002 saw them really start racing.
They were able to compete in all National, Regional and Club
events. Dylan competed
nationally with a field of approx. 40 bikes and achieved a 26th
position for the year. He
missed East London National due to a broken wrist.
He achieved a 7th in East Cape and Border and a 3rd
position in the Border Club Championship.
He is determined to do very well in 2003. |

Bradley
competed nationally and achieved a 2nd in the 6-8yr olds
Nationally and took part in the Pro Junior nationals winning 2 of the 3
events he rode and achieving a 6th for the year.
He rode for SA in Kenya at the AMU.
He was the first South African home and achieved a well earned 2nd.
Unfortunately in East Cape and Border he broke his collarbone twice
and won four of the six events, two events he was unable to compete in.
He won the Border club championship and achieved the highest points
in the Border Club.
He is riding a 65cc this year sponsored by Auto Motorcycles and
hopes to achieve as well.
